Maybe today it is different, with athletes coming out every couple of days in this period, it seems, but to think that Gershwin was a bit like me when I was young would have meant the world to me! What I care about is his talent and his ability. George Gershwin was a brilliant gershwin and his music was beautiful.

It means so much, especially historically, to know of those few who were brave enough and proud enough to do so…. In agreement with all the reasons it matters to gay people. As a gay person, being able to sing songs that reflect the gender of that object of affection or leave the gender unclear are important, especially when you gay alone in the world and wonder if anybody will ever love you.
